Beth Orton was born at Norwich, England.

Beth Orton met William Orbit and thus began her journey in the music scene.

Played at Tasha Lee's legendary Acoustically Heavenly club nights.

Worked with William Orbit on his Strange Cargo series. Released debut album SuperPinkyMandy in Japan with William producing it. The first single off the album, Don't Wanna Know 'Bout Evil was released in Japan and later in UK in 1997.

Signed on to Heavenly Recordings.

Chemical Brothers releases their debut album, Exit Planet Dust featuring Beth Orton on vocals on Alive: Alone. Beth Orton also appears on Red Snapper's In Deep and Snapper.

Releases preview single, She Cries Your Name.

19 October 1996 -
Releases debut album, Trailer Park to critical acclaims.Peaked at #68 on UK Top 75 Albums Chart.

14 December 1996 -
Beth Orton makes her first TV appearancs for Later with Jools Hollands, BBC.

Chemical Brothers releases 2nd album, Dig Your Own Hole featuring Beth Orton on vocals for Where Do I Begin.

May 1997 to November 1997-
Played on several gigs and festivals around UK and US in support of Trailer Park.

2 June 1997 -
Re-issued She Cries Your Name. Cracked the UK Top 75 singles chart for the first time peaking at #40.

August 1997 -
Shortlisted for 1997 Mercury Prize for Trailer Park, losing the award to Roni Size's New Forms.

9 February 1998 -
Nominated for the first time in 1998 Brits Awards for Best British Female and Best British Newcomer, losing both to Shola Alma and Steorophonics.

July 1998 -
Makes first appearance for Lilith Fair.

5 November 1998 -
Begins several tour dates with Ron Sexsmith in the US.

Releases first single off Central Reservation, Stolen Car. Peaked at #34 on UK Top 75 singles chart.

Supported Beck on a month-long tour in Europe.

Down with Crohn's Disease. Have to cancelled a number of low-key Irish dates and promo activites.

19 November 2000 -
Embarked on a month-long European tour.

Re-signed with Heavenly after parting with Deconstruction/BMG.

12 March 2001 -
Beth Orton appears with Beck in the feature film, Southlander. The film makes its debut at SXSW, Austin, TX.

April 2001 -
Signed to AstralWerks for North America, home of Chemica Brothers. EMI to distribute her albums.

Southlander visits SilverLake Film Festival at Vista Theatre, Los Angeles, CA.

Releases Concrete Sky EP.

Releases 3rd album, Daybreaker. Peaked at #8 on UK Top 75 Albums Chart and at #40 on Billboard Hot 200.

21 August 2002 -
Played for Amnesty Concert along with Aimee Mann and Coldplay.
