Indeed.
Beth is cutting a swath of
amazement across the globe. Last night found her at the House of Blues
on the Sunset strip and even with her illness, her performance was no less
than awesome.
The new stuff is as good as expected, the reworkings of old songs are as
innovative as expected and the jokes are as corny as expected. Actually,
better than expected (the music, not the jokes).
The way they did Central Reservation was awesome.
So much to write about, but I was only half there. Every time I looked to
my side I saw my girlfriend glaring at me. We're in relationship hell and
the vibe is not conducive to enjoying music. It's true. It's been proven
that emotions and tension effect the same brain chemistry that allows you
to perceive higher levels of art etc.. So, choose you friends and lovers
wisely... or go it alone. You'll get more
Beth for your buck.
Maybe I deserved the glaring. My partner is very insecure and with the
abundance of attractive women at the show, she felt even smaller. Even
though she's also considered a "10" and turns heads everywhere
she goes, there's very little I've been able to do or say to make feel
other wise. It might be something deeper.
Anyway, I mentioned this here because Beth as the distinction of rising
high above the superficial and I think she's a role model for both female
and males. She has genius. drive and humility. Humility is in such short
supply in this town.
Come back, Beth!
Pleeeeeez! Come back! |
