| It was just wonderful, it was a
small venue called "Die Kantine" (the canteen), not sold out
(Beth isn't very well known and promoted over here), about 150 people
there - and I was standing just in front of her :-). As always, I can't
remember the exact set list, the songs were the same as at
"Paradiso", other sequence. Silke, a friend, caught a set list,
I will send you a scan of it as soon as she sends me her scan.
Beth and the band were really
relaxed and played a fine and atmospheric set - relaxed? Beth was - as
usual - not relaxed when it came to speak a bit in our language or when
her joke became too complicated :-))
On that show Ted broke a string,
as they said, it didn't happen for years, but he broke. That was the
opportunity for Beth to sing solo on request and she did "I Wish I
Never Saw The Sun Shine", my request, thanks for that :-))
She had two encores which took
about 20 minutes, the whole show was about 1:45 ... and as far as I could
see, everybody there was a bit smiling and very supportive. It was her
only German gig :-(, I wish the record label would promote her a bit more
over here. |
