Live set & Interview May 30 1997 This might be the first time Beth Orton came on KCRW. The set opens with Beth Orton telling us how she first got into the music scene and William Orbit. The live set starts with Touch Me With Your Love, She Cries Your Name and closes Safety. The interview ends with a Chemical Brothers' song Where Do I Begin which has Beth Orton on vocals. Also on the interview, Beth Orton says that the title SuperPinkyMandy came from a doll she bought at a jumble sale when she was 6. It was pink and it has muscules. So there you go. |

Beth Orton along with Ted Barnes preview songs like Paris Train, Concrete Sky, Ted's Waltz, Thinking About Tomorrow, Mount Washington and an old fave, Central Reservation. On the show, Beth Orton mentioned that the song, "This One's Gonna Bruise" was first titled "OK" but changed again to "What You Want" and then decided at the present title that was released on Daybreaker. The set running at 42 minutes is a gorgeous listen. |
