March 31 > New single out today!
The 3rd single off Daybreaker, Thinking About Tomorrow, was released today in the UK! The track listing for the single is:
  1. Thinking About Tomorrow (Ben Watt Radio Mix)
  2. Daybreaker (Roots Manuva Remix)
  3. Daybreaker (Four Tet Remix)

Also the US promo single for Thinking About Tomorrow contains 2 mixes by Ben Watt. Ben Watt Mix and Ben Watt Mix - edit as well as the album version. The promo CD comes without an insert but is a cool picture disc.

The UK promo CD contains only one track, The Ben Watt Radio Mix. Comes in a cardboard sleeve.

Also watched out for a special page on Thinking About Tomorrow! Exclusive on Beth-lehem.com only!

March 21 > More stuff in the pipeline
As previously reported, besides the B sides album, there might be a remixed CD that has with the B sides CD according to Matthew Arden from Heavenly Recordings. Here is what Matthew said to Tony (slowdive) after he wrote to him:

"Things are going well. Beth is currently in new zealand and will probably not be able to help you with your request at present moment. i will get back to you as soon as i hear anything from her.

Concerning the super pinky mandy album: we tried to obtain the rights to this recording a few years back, but so far, we haven't been succesful. it is currently owned by toshiba in japan, but they have declined to rerelease the cd due to beth's royaltystatements. sorry...

Another thing, which might be of interest: Heavenly are currently, on the wish of beth, putting together a special rarities album containing b-sides from her past. the album will most probably contain two discs: one with originals and one with various remixes. the cd will probably only be released in the UK, but since you live there, I guess it won't be a problem. also, beth has begun writing and recording new material, but don't expect a release until next year. daybreaker has been confirmed for four singles, the next being "thinking about tomorrow"."

So besides the B sides + remixes CD, we might see another single off Daybreaker. Also, I guess by now, we can really give up hope that SuperPinkyMandy will ever see the light of day again...

Below is a blurb from LA Times Sunday Calender section:

"Beth Orton has asked Kieran Hebden, who has been releasing dark jazz-electronica albums recordings under the name Four Tet, to produce tracks for her next album. The teaming grw out of Hebden remixing two Orton songs and producing the B-side "Beautiful Chair" for her. Release plans are pending, but in the meantime Orton will put out a collection of remixes and B-sides this summer, and a new Four Tet album, 'Rounds,' is due May 20."

Beth is scheduled to play on Radio 1's Breezeblock show on the 25th of March. Guests on the show usually DJ so I'm guessing that's what she'll be doing. You'll be able to listen to the it live online at www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 and the show will be archived for a week at the same url.
